yup true, think 860 + 99 for the 2GB 133X will be a good choice :) I think I will be getting the LX-1 this weekend. Any brothers here know any other place that can better MS color's price of 860 with GST?

ONe shop at People's Park is offering the LX1 for $849, incld GST. I think they also throw in a 512 SD card.

wow! good price for the 2GB card.....

yaloh...now lexar 133x 2GB just cost $99

Just bought a Lexar 2GB 133X SD card from East Gear at PC show for $99.
Compared to a 50X Kingston, the time lag between RAW shots have reduced to about 4.5s.

Even with 133x, raw shots also need 4.5sec.. Then how abt with flash...

seldom use flash so no idea....
but if u really want to shoot in burst rate, then LX1 or digicam isn't for u lor...
u should then go for a DSLR, something like Canon 1D which goes at 8 frames per second.

flash recharge time is separate from disk I/O mah... so it shouldn't really matter.

That's odd, I am using Sandisk Extreme III 2Gb card, don't think it takes more than 3secs.

Oh, ya raw will take awhile for it to save into the card cause the file is quite big compare to jpeg... Do update which card is best suitable for LX1... will share amount this forum user.. thks

Tried just now with the cam set to manual focus. Time inbetween RAW shots is 3 - 4 seconds with the 133X SD card. Much improvement over my previous 50X Kingston.

u have to use the internal flash to trigger any external flash.
If u do not want the effect of the internal flash on your subject, just use a namecard to deflect the flash but still trigger the external flash.

This wat i did and got lor:

i see.. ok . based on the pic. the flash was from the right of yr girl issit ?

Currently using to LX1 to work on some projects.
It is my primary camera. Never even bothered to touch my DSLR.
This is how much I've grown to love this cam as well as how the image compares to a FF 11.1MP DSLR.

Go for it man!

I sold the Canon Ixus i5 and Pro1 for this.
And I leave the full frame DLSR and a dozen of Leica R, Contax CZ and Canon L lenses home.
All I bring is only the LX1. And I'm very happy with the results. ;)

Hi all!! I am a new proud owner of LX1. Just got it 2 weeks ago at Low Yat Plaza KL for RM1799 with free 512mb SD.

And special thanx to weekh for starting this thread, which has a great influnce on my purchase ;) , as i have delayed my purchase earlier on due to those 'negative comments' from other forums.

want to check with you guys whether you guys have this problem. After using the LX1 for a while, i found that there is a small thread of hair like thing (about 1 mm) has got its way in between the lense elements and also inside the lcd view finder.

is this cover under the warranty??

tq...

i think i have the same thing too in my FZ5. it has a few specks of dust in it too, but doesnt affect image output as far as me using it...

wow!! the pictures are fantastic!!

I have just received a LX-1 adn after taking some snaps around the house, was kind of disappointed with the output... very noisy I must say. Maybe I'm just too used to my DSLR's output. Was thinking of selling it off... but when I see this thread.. decide to give it another try before deciding what to do with it...

Any tips on how to optimise the performance of this cam. ;)
Thanks!!!

use the lowest iso, noise should not be a problem at that level. anyway p&s are not really made for doing high ISO shoots

The out-of-the-cam JPEGs from the LX1 are indeed noisy, even at ISO80.

For best image quality, you got to do RAW conversion, which will surprise you.

Have to work within the limits of the CCD though, I tried low light interior shots without flash and the noise is amplified several times even at ISO80/100... the noise kind of defeat the purpose of having the very sharp Leica lens.

In good daylight and ISO80/100 though, the kind of detail, sharpness and image quality you get with the Leica lens is quite amazing for such a small camera.

I actually used Raw format... but maybe like you say... low light interior shots without flash.... :thumbsd:

Shall bring it out for shoot under good daylight.....
