when i saw this nest, i kept thinking of a 300mm, remote flash, artificial background, tripods etc....

as I walked away, i realised that the LX1 is with me. What the Fish! Take some pictures first lah! Only take 2 shots as the birds are a little uneasy with me standing so close.

I bought the under water pack at a DIY shop in IMM Juring east. heard that other DIY shop also carry this item.
I have'nt test it yet.

Oh I See... that must be the HomeFix Shop opposite Giant in IMM than and I am a member there so I will get another 5% of ... By the way, this bag will be good as a rain jacket and swimming pool shots.

Brought the LX1 to a concert. The low ISO and noise, dynamic range really pose a problem.

Wish lists for the LX2 - perfect digicam:

1. ISO 1600 with low noise
2. Better dynamic range

u have to use the internal flash to trigger any external flash.
If u do not want the effect of the internal flash on your subject, just use a namecard to deflect the flash but still trigger the external flash.

Just bought a Lexar 2GB 133X SD card from East Gear at PC show for $99.
Compared to a 50X Kingston, the time lag between RAW shots have reduced to about 4.5s.

bobspike, the $999.00 is list price. did you ask them for discount? I asked and they said they were willing to reduce the price by $50 and they would give additional 1GB card (so total 2 of 1GB card). But even at this price, it is still beyond my budget.

A friend of mine ended up buying FZ7 at $750 (list price $799.00), freebies: 2 units of 1GB SD Card (list only 1 unit of 1GB card), Lumix Case, lens cleaning kit, LCD protector, swap the free small tripod with 1 extra battery (OEM).

never use normal speed on your LX1. It is going to be very slow when u shoot in RAW.
Get the fastest card u can afford. A 50X is ok. But at $99 for a 2GB 133X Lexar SD card, it is cheap and need no further consideration.

yup true, think 860 + 99 for the 2GB 133X will be a good choice I think I will be getting the LX-1 this weekend. Any brothers here know any other place that can better MS color's price of 860 with GST?
