LX1 Rocks!!!

Heads up for all who is interested in LX1.

As what trucatus had mentioned, it seems that LX1 will be withdrawn from the market.

Not sure if there will be a LX2 or Panasonic is totally withdrawing the product from the market.

And even with a LX2, the changes may not necessary for the better.

So not sure if I should get myself another LX1 / Digilux 2 now or wait and hope that there will be a LX2.....

Unlike other cams, this cam is really special and one of a kind. Once withdrawn, you simply can't jump brand and buy yourself another cam in 16:9 format.

interesting that panasonic has withdrawn the LX1. can only hope and guess there is something else upcoming. afterall, they've done well to introduce a unique product offering in the LX1 and 16:9 ratio, which no other competitor has done.

weekh, your pics really rock, i was one of those who bought on the strength of your pics. of course i found out it's the photographer behind the tool that really matters, though i'm having quite a bit of fun with my LX1.

i know there are regular lumix outings, but shall we organize a photoshoot primarily for LX1 users? anyone keen???

Yes. That's the reason why I shoot in RAW.

As mentioned, I will bring the WB to around 4500k (I shot with auto WB). Adjust or normalise the exposure and contrast (don't know why CS2 Bridge will automatically adjust the exposure and contrast and could differ drastically from what i see from the camera lcd).

Seldom would I be bothered to apply noise ninja at all even if I shoot in ISO 200 or below. Most of my shots are resize to 750 pixel in width. Sharpened using USM in CS2 set at 131%, radius 0.3 and threshold 0.

This is one of the rare pix that I applied noise ninja.... For this kind of shot, there isn't much fine details that will be removed by NR along with the noise.

Shot at ISO 200 at 1/13s at the longest tele. Both hands stretched uphigh to hold the cam. Don't know how I can manage to hold the cam steady. The IOS really did a good job.

Don't have any JPG files in hand as I dont' keep any of the JPG files. And all the 16MB RAW files are converted to 8 MB DNG.

No other cams offers u 16:9 format sensor.
No other cams in this size offers u 8MP, record in RAW and gives u full control.


For unprocessed jpg file, u can go to dpreview and see how the jpg compares with the other digicam.

yup I went to dpreview, but the piciture is not impressive. look kinda normal .I mean picture quality not to mention 16:9 format.
