The price i got is S$1140 with GST from CP.

If you don't want to edit then the Lecia otherwise LX3 will do. Jpeg color is really better and more real with Lecia rather than with LX3.

For someone who own a DSLR and i shoot raw. But for compact camera like this lecia then i go for jpeg.

So in the end is up to what you want and that is one of the issue one should consider while trying to choose between the two compacts (Lecia D-Lux 4 & Panasonic DMC-LX 3).

On Dec 15 Panasonic will release it's first firmware update for the LX3 and this will address white balance jpg issues. I wouldn't be surprised if they simply copied the Lecia's settings and applied it to the LX3 for an easy upgrade on their part. :bsmilie:

The first is the LX3 & the second the DLux4..... :)

1st is D-lux 4 (from the color - it is more neutral)
2nd LX-3 (higher saturation)

From my observation the lights of the lamp pole.

Am I right?

No offence... but I think it may not be the best test.... coz diff shutter speed is used for the 2 photo... Btw... the EXIF already shows the camera model..... :)

can I ask we bring to service center upgrade software? or flash it ourselves?

Pic A: taken with LX3 with ISO125, F2.0 and 1/125s.
Pic B: taken with D-Lux4 with ISO80, F2.0 and 1/30s.

Tip: If u're using firefox browser, download the Exif Viewer Add-on and u can see the camera settings when u right-click on the pics.

personally i like the 2nd photo - more definition imo

Can actually see that the D-Lux4 has slightly richer colours out of camera...but then again, nothing that Photoshop can't tweak....
In terms of overall image quality...both are identical to me.

Sorry, where is JOhn 3:16. New amateur photographer lah.

Try taking 100 shots and amend on Photoshop :)
