Recently i got the Flipside200 from penisular, the quality and construction of the bag was good. As i find it too small to my liking, i sold it off after like 2-3 days without using it and got the flipside 300 instead. Yes, it is definately big enough.

But here's the problem which i faced. The packaging for the 200 was a plastic wrapping with lowepro logos on it. There's a made in china tag in the bag, the compartments are well distributed. The tripod buckle was long.

For the 300, the plastic wrapper doesn't have the logos on it, the compartments looks funny(still acceptable to me), the tripod buckle was just nice for my 190Xprob tripod, there wasn't any made in china tag in the bag.

So for those who are interested in getting the flipside series, do check properly, unless you don't nitpick with the bags like me. I am just sharing this details with you guys out there who are interested in the bag. And the 2 bags(200/300) which i bought are from common reputable shops(different shops) which i do not want to disclose them.

No need to say which shop, but can share the price?

flipside 200 i bought for 105bucks
flipside 300 i bought for 132bucks

all the lowepro nowaday are China Made...these are non hi end/tech product so cost of manufacturing is the concern..look at crumplers, tamrac, kata etc..all China made.

Btw, i did a research on the flipside 300 at funan challenger... they are selling 200+, funny part is, it has the same points which i mentioned on the flipside200, but different from my flipside300. You will see wat i meant.

Why i started this post is to let the consumers know wat to look for if they are nitpickers. ;p

In fact I was looking around for the flipside 300 almost every shop I come across and trying playing around with it but all are black colour, and yet to decide on buying.

Finally today I pop by TK and saw the blue one. Not too sure what happen, I just bought it without hesitation!??? Not still thinking it is a right choice. Should I bring back and maybe trying changing to Crumpler 7 million dollars? Still not sure, bcos I have never use a backpack before.

Anyway, it comes in a Lowepro logos plastic bag with tag stated made in china, like what you descibed for the 200s.

So, how you find your flipside 300 so far? Any complain?

Cheers.

i just got a flipside 300, the plastic bag had lowepro logos on it. i also have the made in china tag in my bag.

best is to check properly. :)

Sorry to hijack this thread, but since it's a discussion about the flipside, maybe I can ask a question.

How's the handling of this bag? I'm definitely sure it'll fit most of what I have/plan-to-purchase (1 dslr+grip, 2 normal length +70-200 lenses, flash unit, bottle and hoods), but how does it handle? Is it very modular in the sense that you can constantly change your configurations both inside and outside (any sliplocks?)? Fitting a monopod (manfrotto 681) wouldn't be a problem right? I'm ok with the 'pod being longer than the bag.

Would love to have some people share their views on the bag, thanks! =)

I'm also wondering on the same question to handling, as I just bought it yesterday before I left for oversea.

Anyway, here's a very detail review on the bag, with video somemore. http://forum.digitalcamerareview.com/showthread.php?p=15598

Photo shown is the same as what I'm having. Really love that BLUE., dunno why.

Any user to share their experience please? Seems quite sellable, as I visited many shops whenever I passed by. Their stock is decreasing, and CP even out of stock!

Cheers!

Oh wow! Thanks for the link! The flipside 300 seems to be accommodate bout 1 lens + 1flash more than the 200. For bout 30 bucks diff, I'd probably get the flipside 300.

Cheers man~

If you compare the 200 and 300, their external size only differ by a little bit only, with 200 felt slimer.

Haha, not too sure why I still could not settle down with it and still thinking whether should I get the crumpler 7 mil $ instead, which is just 30bucks more, as I have never use a backpack b4. Totally forgot to check it out in the shop when I was stripping the flipside.

Actually, I have considered the Crumpler Whiskey & cox too, as both are of similar concept. Crumpler W&C is sure a much more nicer design in terms of appearance and built, of course the price too, but most important - its weight. W&C is already heavy even when it's empty!!!

Cheers!

Anyone looking for a black one? PM me. :)

Yes, please do share your experience even if you plan to sell it =)

I load with 1Ds MII with 70-200L 2.8 attach to body, one other body,580 flash, extra camera battery. raincoat. It is light to carry for walking. Padding is good.

You've just made me decide on this series of bags instead of think tank. Which model do you own?

I used the 300 series. Cost me $130 black colour.

I have no bad experiences with the bag... Just got a blue one as well and prefer the blue, so I'll sell the black. :)

I am using 300.......the bag is good in its design and padding.

However, do take note that is your tripod is more than 1.5kg, try not to attach it at the back of the bag. cos this will add a lot of weight. Really, its nothing when carrying full load inside but once attach other weight right behind the bag......it is heavy.

You can use the tripod bag and it solve all problems.....;)
