Is your 50D limiting your progress in photography?

If the answer is absolute YES, than you can consider buying else my advise is to think again.

in a way it is. i shoot a lot of indoors without flash. i dun like using flash cuz its no longer natural. 50D barely suffices with the 50 f/1.4 @ iso 1600. the noise is irritating @ iso 3200. in another word this makes my kit lens very useless too. =(

Bro advise u to stick with your 50D for the moment. Find a few specific areas that you'll like to shoot and focus on them. No point upgrading to 7D so soon.

If you like sports, 7D is a good "budget" cam if you can't afford the 1D/1Ds.

If you are into wedding photography, 5D mk II is a good one for weddings, but for now sticking with 50D is okay as both are on Digic 4.

ya, u got a point there. 5DII would be a better option for me. actually i'm only considering the 7D cuz i can't afford the 5DII right now, but after thinking about it...theres no point upgrading from 1.6x to another 1.6x when i dun benefit from the superb AF system. the 7D's high iso is attractive though, but from what i read online regarding 50D vs 7D, the iso performance pretty much the same til above above 1600. and 5dii owned both bodies in terms of iso performance comfortably at all ranges. oh yeah the review is a cameralabs.com one. well i guess i'm gonna hold back on selling the 50D and look at where i wanna go from there. i'm still stucked with my kit lens. zzz...its good, but not sharp enough.

Brought my 50D @ $15XX as i paid by credit.
Also brought a battery grip with it.

So far has been a good experience.
Using it with a Tamron 17-55mm.

well i believe its because of the existence of 7D. the price of the 50D has been pushed down. its like the d90 of the Canon i believe. as much as d90 attracted ppl to nikon...50D being in the middle range of the aps-c is attracting ppl to canon. i nearly bought a d90...the only reason why im not a nikonian now is because everywhere i went it was sold out...in the end i got myself a 50D instead. and boy i'm glad i did. =D the colors are way better on the canon in jpeg.

yeah i do weddings occasionally. i'm no pro...i juz so happen to be doing this cuz i interned at a productions company. hmm, will the 50D price drop? yeah perhaps $200 if we look back at the 40D vs 50D price diff?

standard package ah? kit 1 is the 18-55 lens right? hmm...
