Low light Lens or a Good Flash

mm...so the bottomline is the DA line is meant for digital only and is inferior to the FA series but due to a combination of characteristics, a photographer is best served by an optimal mix of DA and FA lenses, presumably balancing money and performance?

DA lenses are for digital only, but it's not to say that they are inferior to FA series. Actually on dSLR cameras, most DA lenses perform better than FA lenses (less flare, less CA ...), especially wide angle lenses. And DA lenses are smaller/lighter and mostly cheaper too. I'm sure the new DA* zoom lenses would perferm better than those FA* zoom lenses on digital SLR camera.

My suggestion is, just buy the newer and easily available DA lense, don't spend so much time and effort searching for old FA ones :)

Actually for me the only concern about the DA lense is what would happen if Pentax goes to Full Frame in future. In that case, would DFA lense be better?

By the way, what do you think SIGMA 18-50mm f/2.8 EX?

Thanks again!
