Its always one of my aims to witness the Northern lights one day, I hope I can capture them as well as you when the day comes.

And yes, do keep the flare in your pics, somehow, it gives the the photos a more 3D feeling.

hi... do you have a flickr page or something?? i cant see any of the great pictures you posted here on clubsnap..

Amazing to see another person "Lost in Iceland" ....
I was lost there too for 3 weeks in July .... Didn't see any snow at all because it was too early ...
Spent 2 week in the capital doing an environmental volunteer project and then spent a week doing a self drive along the south coast ... and even then only manage to see about 1/3 of that beautiful country ...

Thanks for sharing your pictures .... if Richard don't mind I will post a few of my pics here of the same places ... gives a very different view just 2 months time gap ....

sure sure! post them and share the different view with us :) when i was there, even teh locals were surprised by the snow as it was too early, and this may be surprising to many ppl, but iceland has not had snowy winters in the low-lying areas for the past few years, so we were very lucky to get a heavy snowfall one night (lucky not the northern lights night too) to get a snow covered landscape for pictures

114 - the scallops skewer, and....the whale skewer! I'm actually quite against the practice of commercial whaling, but according to the locals in iceland, they actually hunt the local minke whale to keep the population controlled, as they say these whales which are not on the endangered species list actually threatens their fishing economy as they eat an astonishing amount of fish everyday. Not sure how true this is though..... my friend wanted to try how it tasted like...so we ordered one skewer. Tastes like a cross between beef and lamb, totally a red meat and cooked like red meat too, medium rare...too tough for my liking tho
