To each their own bro. This is business. One has the right to choose whoever they seem right and with the right pricing. Of course they can enguage anyone who offers free service.

And to add to that, this trend of 'free service' and 'cheap rates' is not good for the development of photography services offered in Singpaore. One of these days, those who offered free services will find that they're not being paid for their hard job, and it will be very difficult for them to start charging their clients, as they have been doing this for free. On the other hand, those who offered their services for a fee will find that their rice bowls get 'stolen'.

But as I said, this is a free economy, and anyone has the right to choose their vendors who offers the best pricing and package. Nothing wrong with that, just that I think this is never healthy.

That's right. Ultimately different clients have different preferences. There are those that seek for FOC services. Some go for budget photographers. But there are also those that insist on good/decent payment to their appointed photographers -- to them its more than just the price issue. So depends on who is the client.

....you don't hear David Gan grumbling about the Mats who charge $8 for haircuts...or the quikie $10 cuts mushrooming all over the place....Jean Yip Salons are still clearing many sackfull of hair every end of day...if you are good, you should have no problem charging a premium....so cut the craps about spoiling market.....sorry about the pun....

Wah, so much name calling not good leh. :o

Well, agree that many so call pro will give a bad name for the other pros by doing a bad job. Also thru many students will produce similar good job because they approach the job as their school assignment to score high marks. :bsmilie:

As a rule of thumb, the real pros are also a real business, we charge in accordance to the work required by the client. When a company enters into an agreement with another company it is a contract. If the service providing company fails to deliver, they are liable to to be sued and pay for damages and / or worse. ;)

So the normal everyday people on the street needs to be educated on what photographic business gives in terms of service provided and the kind of assurance they get when they hire a production company.
