looking for new flash for FZ30

SB50DX won't work too well cos there's no automatic modes. For cheap, compact and yet good Nikon flash, try SB28 which probably can be had for less than $200 used.

Did some research online .. that SB28 aint available anymore .. and its replaced by SB-80DX ... price tag for it is :bigeyes: :bigeyes:

Personally just need some plain auto .. with some possible manual flash ...

I mean buy a second hand SB28 ;p SB80DX is also discontinued and replaced by SB800.

I second mpenza's recommendation of a 2nd hand SB28.. they're powerful, reliable, compact and works well in Auto mode with dumb hotshoe cams. U can find them selling in B&S for under $200..

If budget is really tight, can also consider used SB26, SB25 and SB24 which are all cheaper down to about $120.. they're older, bigger & heavier, but will perform as well in Auto mode as long as u get a good working unit..

IMHO, the older nikons are better than the cheap emoblitz, vitacons, metz.. Btw, going for Nikon models newer than SB28 will not give u any benefits on FZ30.

- TCW (No solutions for FZ30 the lady said in back TCW polo tee) ... even though one of our bro here bought a flash from them for FZ30
- CP (Achiever 828 which feels and looks like a Filmsy Toy) ...
- AP (Emoblitz no stock) ...
- MS (Emoblitz only but stock come next week)

got my Sunblitz Ai 829 TW from Nelson from TCW, maybe they got no stock? anyways, theres someone selling a Emoblitz on B&S, maybe you can check it out?

waaaa SB800 :devil:
but will be a waste of $ to get it just for fz30 since you will use less than 20% of the function provided. the price is also around >50% fz30 :sweat:. but if you got a nikon dSLR, that will be a different story :lovegrin:
