I am looking for a 120GXP 40GB hard disk, specifically P/N: 07N8082.
Need one in working condition for data recovery purpose.
I can buy over or offer you an upgrade to a 80GB.
If you have one, give me a call at 91075275.

Have been looking in hardwarezone for a while without luck, so trying here.

 I have this HDD on my desk. Same P/N. ;)

Unfortunately, it's dead. It died on me a couple of days ago.

Worst thing is that warranty was only until 30 Oct 2003.

Oh well....

Good luck, Dude!

:Later,

I suspect the circuit board of my hard disk died, so I need a identical working unit to swap over and hopefully can read the data.

Hmm... in that case, Pinoy's dead HDD's circuit board may still work, if his cause of harddisk failure is not a fried circuit board.

I checked with him, his also cannot be detected by BIOS, same problem, so the circuit board also dead liao.

Hi Megaweb, none of the hard disk manufacturers will help you on data recovery, they will only change your hard disk if it is under warranty. Does nothing to recover the data :(

It seems that dead circuit board is a very common problem.

No wonder some newer Harddisk have a covered PCB to prevent hands from touching it and risk static charge.

Too bad, I don't know the guys in the IBM Service Center well enough...One of my colleague who used to work there, also had a dead PCB for his harddisk, he managed to get a replacement from the harddisks discarded by customers who did not want to repair them.

Mine used to be a 40GB too until it died and they replaced it with a 60GB.
:)

Hi Frisky,

I have a 40GB 120GXP in my comp. But dunno if the part no is what u want. PM me your offer and I'll consider selling. ;)

The Hard disk just decided to be detected, so now backing up to another hard disk. Hope it last long enough for the backup to complete, cross my finger :D
