Looking for film in singapore

Well hi there.

I've recently purchased a SLR (Nikon FM2N)from ebay and a 50mm 1.4f manual lens (bns) to go along with it.

I love the colours of the Kodak Ektar 100 and would like to use that film in the future. But I understand it's slightly pricy and would like your (experienced) advice on what film to get first.

Primarily looking for a cheapish (compared to the Ektar 100) film to start shooting film (before using the more expensive Ektar 100), I would like a coloured, low or no grain film.

Which film should I get (and where to get it from)?
And does anyone know if I can get the Ektar 100 (in the future) at peninsula? (or at other places?)

Thanks!

if you are talking about c41 iso100 films. there isn't too much choices nowadays. portra160 isn't any cheaper. the other few options will be Agfa vista and Fuji color

the usual places you can get films locally are ruby photo , konota and tripleD at Burlington square.

many of us also purchase film online, but if you are not buying in bulk, it's better to get locally.

If you want to purchase at black camera, level 3 Peninsula Plaza, then please check here : https://carousell.com/p/23758136
It is not cheap anyway.
Have you think about shouting with Kodak 200 gold first, as for beginner.

Thanks for your reply! I don't think I would be buying in bulk anytime soon since I'm new and would like to experiment with different films

you can try FUJI Superia X-tra400. It has nice color contrast.

Actually there're a lot of films that fit TS description but would reckon kodak gold to you since it's practically one the cheapest roll around now. I have a FM2 too :)

If you are looking for any old Kodak films, try looking it up at Rochor Center level 1 watch and clock shop. They are moving out very soon.
They selling them a set of 3 rolls for $7.50. It could have expired as they do not come with canister or box.

just got 2sets for 15$ they are kodacolor 100

If you want, I can pass you some Portra400.

Went there yesterday. Still have 5-6 rolls left I think. There's also a few 120mm rolls but not sure what brand are they. The 35mm ones are 24exp only but quite worth it if they still can produce decent images.

I think they are kodacolor 100. Saw some photos on the net. Looks nice!

So I went to process the film that I got recently from Rochor Centre. It came out blank. I guessed the films are already spoiled and won't have any use.

Wow. Is it only one film or several of them?

I bought 3 but 2 of them came out blank. So I supposed it's all void.

Since your post, I quickly got all 6 rolls bought from them developed and processed.
Fortunately all turned out OK typical of expired film.
I'll post some when I have the time.

Thanks for the update. I guess it depends on luck then.
