do you know how much is a 70-200 f2.8??? just to capture your captivating, exciting and exciting photos of the game???

There were a couple of ads for photographers…. was better at $30/hr.

Un-freaking believable!!!

Sad thing is that some moron will take the job.

Go look for Singapore Sports Council Photographers, they all shoot for free. A 300mm 2.8 VRII is almost 8k and that's the minimum, I will never downgrade myself to a $15/hr photographer.

Hahaha what a joke ! Sad but true...somebody will response. Noobs with kit lenses shooting in auto modes.

:thumbsup::thumbsup: they only work for pass, just give them a pass that screams MEDIA, they will come crawling to you, plenty around. For this rate, someone WILL take up the job and TS will have the last laugh.

now a days our photography service value is destroyed. No one appreciate what we have been through to get such skills. After all sooner or later we on longer see ourselvs as a professional job. For those who replied for such a pay don't u even think of ur own return of investment. Your time and effort to deliver this images.

Come on!!! Respect this profession.

I rather don't earn that money and shoot for free but for charities

i think it's sad to scream respect while disrespecting other photopahers who shoots for a passion.
would love to see these "photograhers" work tho.see how "pro" they r.

Huh? $15 per hour? LOL.
:thumbsd:

althought im no pro,
but i would really like to remind TS that to capture your that 'moment' in sports,

at least a 70-200 2.8 would be required. Even the mak1 2nd hand would be 1.5-1.6k for the lens

Read the initial post, and past thread by TS carefully, TS is from an event company, they are just a middleman, providing photographers to their clients/organizers.

I'm sure other event companies are doing more or less the same, the situation won't be change, as long there are still many photographers hard up enough to take up these assignments.
Respect? what respect? photographers don't have any self respect, who will give them respects?
Joke? there are plenty of Jokers take up such assignments, else no one will come and ask for this price.

They have endless supply of photographers right? than why need to change?

if you want to make a living from photography, you need to think about this, there are no more fishes in this pond, why stay here?
if you want to want to make some pocket money, I think you go work at McDonald will be far better, at least they provide you training, uniform, food, and you don't have to bring your own pan and wok or cash register machine to go to work. You covered by CPF too.

So I guess only left those who want to shoot for passions, thrills or whatever reasons, will still want to take up such assignment, if you are not looking for these, than find something else to do.

If you want to rant, start a thread in Kopitiam.
