Looking for Assistance Photographer Position

I looking to get some real time experience on handling different cameras and working on studio and outdoor with models...I am hardly looking for a full assistance photographer position...Please let me know if you come across any vacancy...

He was hands on experience in shooting models outdoor and indoor whilst being hired as an assistance photographer.

I am hardly looking for a full assistance photographer position...Please let me know if you come across any vacancy...

But he is not exactly looking for a just assistance photographer, he wants to shoot too.

i was kinda confused for a moment too... but are there such positions readily available? I mean... usually photographers assistant's dont do much or any shooting right? As from what i've heard, they carry stuff around, hold reflectors, set up strobes etc... but not take photos

yes you are correct, its only rarely where assistants get to shoot.

Hey Thanks man.. all all your concerns...btw...plan is like that...I need some place where I can do hands on all type of cameras...and get some references ..so that i can join some media company or magazine to make my bread.,....for all these I need experience...

All I see here is people do photography as hobbies...I have passion to photography...I am planning to do professionally..I struck with how and where to start with...I thought being a assistance would show be some break...

I'd advise you to take a course in photography and get a cert or diploma in it to kickstart your career - or build up a portfolio and do it freelance, try to get noticed and make it big... these are just ideas... im not a professional though i do freelance jobs by word of mouth. hope it helps!

yeah...I did few courses on Basic,travel,nude,portrait and fashion..never tried a diploma or degree....I am building my portfolio now...But...the think is how to get this word of mouth...Frankly speaking...i am very amatuered and i need experience....to get break thru....and how to get references...

I think Singscott and Beachbum are both looking for full time photographer assistant. Both their studios are pro level and they do assignments with models etc. You can write in to them, and good luck.

juz to highlight, commercial photography is very different to wat you see, hear and experience down here in this CS......, if you are seriuosly considering to be a commercial photographer, you need to be full time assistance to some commercial photographer for quite sometime, b4 you can really do some shoot.
