Yeah pretty fun cam but scanning is one big pain in the butt. Lol. I got mine scanned & made into video by ThirtySix after I gave up trying to DIY. I added in the music later.

I actually wanted to make a movie using my GCFN with 35mm back and stitch it image by image in editing software, however, I got a feel its gona be a HUGE PAIN in the wallet and butttt too. LOLx.

Able to PM me the price of LomoKino?
Heard that Uncle Mike able to scan and export it in MOV. is that true?

Yeah Uncle Mike/ThirtySix can do it. Mine was done by them. As for the LomoKino price, maybe you can just call up ThirtySix. I've yet to settle the payment for mine as I'm doing some offset of payment with one of the boss ... over some beer money. Lol. Not sure exactly how much. Lol

LOLOLx.
sure will call them and check it out...
hmmmm beer money...
think I know who you refering too...
:p

thanks! and make more movie please! maybe a blockbuster of the beer-master.

I think you can just scan the images out as JPG and export it to After Effects then render it as MOV.

You could adjust the frame rate in AE and add in transitions and audio later in FCP.

Anyway really tempted!!!

For those who has bought the lomokino and prefer to see the "moive" in pure analog form projected to a screen. Here is a rough setup I did. I use a lens (can enlarger lens, screw mount lens) and place infront of the magnifier lens of the scope. Use a ultra bright LED lamp as the light source from the back and you got your lomokinoscope projector. You will have to shoot slides and process it normally (E6 chemistry) to fully enjoy this setup.

Excellent!

Love the kinescope projector hack! And may I say your shorts are really in the spirit of the lomokino. Fun and irreverent. Great music too! Keep'em coming.

Hey Sweat100, I'm really interested in your projector. Wondering if there is a way to do telecine out of your set-up. I have a letus mini 35mm adapter for small camcorders/hybrid cam. If you would like, I can loan you the Letus (43mm filter size) and maybe you can somehow project the image onto the ground glass of the Letus. You can then record the footage using any small video-enabled camera.
If it works, that saves the pain of negative scanning.

Hi, that would be interesting. I am not sure about letus products. I sort of get what you mean. Does it mean on the one side is the ground glass where you project the "moive" and on the other side you attach the video camera to it to record? If it is, how big is the area of the ground glass?

The ground glass is just the size of a single frame of 35mm film negative. It is inside the Letus35 mini. http://www.letusdirect.com/cart/images/detailed/0/letus-mini12518234114a9d4f33cf673.jpg One end of the Letus has a F-mount and the other is a screw mount. The camcorder is screwed on to the 43mm thread and records images cast onto the ground glass. The challenge is to project the image accurately onto the ground glass. If you are interested, I can pass you the Letus to try out. Contact me at 96961157.
