for fans and lovers of 'LOMO-photography' and are keen to purchase your first LOMO cameras, perhaps it would be 'educational' to take a visit to these sites first....

Alfred's Camera Page

LOMO Joe

By the way, as mentioned before, the Holga and Action Sampler are *NOT* LOMO cameras. They are Chinese-made "cameras" being sold under the LOMOgraphic Society International's banner. (An Austrian company originally formed to promote and sell the use of LC-A and hence, LOMOgraphy). LOMO (Leningradskoye Optiko Mechanichesckoye Obyedinenie, or, Leningrad Optical & Mechanical Enterprise) is Russian, and never did manufacture any of these cameras.

The Singapore Lomo Embassy, also known as the ffurious store (some small design outfit, they sell clothes and stuff too) has a physical storefront at Sago Street (chinatown). It's on the 2nd floor of a row of shophouses near Maxwell market and quite difficult to find. Sometimes the lights in the store are off and you're not sure if anyone's around, but gotta press the doorbell. The guy in there is pretty friendly and all the stuff there is awesome :)

however, have to note that much of the pricing of LOMO cameras is for the novelty value. The cameras themselves are all plastic and are actually very cheap. if you can do without the packaging and the fancy book that comes with it, get from overseas. a lot cheaper.
