It makes sense for him to partner up with China because of geography (if he truly intends to do good for his people).

LKY designed your system on merit and self sustenance. You guys put your backs into it and are successful. Philippines always been on a tit and this guy looks to be looking for more tits. As I have already said Duterte = LKY is a frigging joke. A non starter...no comparison at all imo.

I don't know that it makes a difference but just compare and contrast both men's selection of a mate...to me that is very telling of character...plus LKY stood by his girl to the end. I'm just saying...

There is no free lunch, the price will be extracted over the Spratlys. Already there are criticism from Ramos whom he considered a benefactor and whom he earlier sent to China for negotiations. I forsee resistence from the military who have strong bonds with the US for his tilt towards China.
