he's coincidentally at work too.. we can all attest to that.. 8)

aquilani does make a gd replacement for lucas doesnt he..
passes forwards more often, altho often the recipient wear salah tshirt..
but thats 2 assists he got for kuyt now, and can you say that of lucas..
:bsmilie: i'm not RB lah bro...

Aquilani & Lucas are 2 different kind of players...Aquilani is more attack-minded while Lucas is defensive...but frankly,i prefer Lucas to Masch...:bsmilie: Masch likes to 'hold' the ball longer & many times,he got dispossessed. His tackling is also careless & mistimed on many occasion. Lucas, tho not a silky player is effective...he breaks the opponent's play...

Next game will be a merseyside derby at home...i doubt Aquilani will play...i think RB will field most of his tougher players...

Aquilani seems like a lucky charm..

yayyy! we won!!!

and it sure is scary to knw that mansilly has 3 games in hand and currently are 3 pts behind!:sweatsm:

Rafa rubbishes Juve deal claims

"Contrary to reports in the Italian media this weekend, I want to make it absolutely clear I have no agreement with Juventus and have not and will not be meeting Juventus or their representatives or any other club," said the Liverpool manager.

"I have a long term contract with Liverpool and I'll repeat what I said on Friday that I am happy here and my only focus is to do my job as well as I can to get the team back into to the top four, beginning with the derby against Everton."

Honestly I'm not quite sure about that. Aquilani was quite out of sorts in the first 15mins or so. Gradually settle into play but hardly any impact in midfield. Very much the same kind form Lucas showed in the earlier part of the season when he was thrust with the same role.

The fortunate thing is, he works hard, run for every ball, including the far end head back for kyut's goal. Hopes he brings this kind of attitude in every match and improves from there. He was rightfully substituted by Lucas. Still very much short of full match fitness and Lucas's fresh leg was much needed in the middle especially when Gerrard was man-marked throughout.

I still believe without Lucas, the team might just be playing even better... The youngster should be given a chance...

Har... u prefer Lucas to Masch? Honestly, i think Masch is one of the best DM in the game. He's like a blood sucking leech :P

If you say lucas is defensive, on a scale of 10, masch will be 9-10 and lucas at most i give is 7. Also, Lucas, iirc, gives away more goals than Masch... and Lucas, although get forward a lot more than Masch, still can't score.

So in short, i think Lucas is an inferior player compare with Aquilani and Masch. The key question is really how good Aquilani is and whether he can play with Gerrard.

i dont doubt masch ability...when masch & lucas both on form,i still believe masch is better than lucas...but look at how many games masch has missed for us...redcards...suspensions...he is much a volcano about to erupt...anytime...there are some games that masch gave the ball away that lead to opponents scoring...but i've seen lucas giving away ball also...now here comes the different...lucas has improved...he doesnt let the ball go eassily & as often as before...masch..he still is in danger of getting send off...thus,getting suspended for many games...

well, if there are better options... who wouldn't prefer?

any coach will select a player who has got a fair amount of top level football experience then to risk a similar player (in terms of skills) who hasn't.

Lucas played quite a few games for first team last season as compared to the rest of the fringe players.

The only other player is Babel. But he doesn't quite fit the role which Alonso vacated. Well of cos, some may argue, there's yossi. but my opinion is that is better deployed to run down wings or at opponent's defense then to distribute play in the middle.
