just had a quick look at the highlights of last night's match and i must say we really gel very well but our accuracy in the box leaves much to be desired. alonso's passing was superb last night.

as for the penalty, i think gerrard played for it when he knew the defender was going to up-end him from the back. we should have a penalty for hands just before that incident.

A Madrid is quite a good team also actually. they were very dangerous on the break. But overall i think Liverpool played much better than them. Agger had a few chances to score as well.

agger's still finding his feet after the long lay off. we know his left foot packs quite a shot and if he had caught the two chances he had sweetly, we would have put the match to bed and qualify for CL knockout stages.

i think keane's also finding his feet. the supply is coming to him the way he likes it and i can't wait for torres to come back as i think the torres/keane partnership might just work for us.

another good performance i think,though the finishing couldve been better! if we took all our chances,we couldve a scoreline of 5-1...but i'm a dreamer...its 1-1 & in the end,we can consider ourselves lucky for getting a really soft penalty. in that game,i saw our passing to be slick & good...i saw some really nice footwork,backheels,etc...the one that gerrard missed got a nice backheel from gerrard to alonso(i think) who passed him a great return ball where gerrard shot wide...

we showed great character comming back from 1 goal down against a team who can really counter-attack. maxi rodriguez goal was good...he beat carra with juz 2 touches...

as i said earlier,good teams create their own luck...we r a good team...the best of all the good teams around...we will create more luck infuture...but i hope we win & score early coz this old frame of mine cannot last 90minutes of enxiety...:bsmilie:

ngog had a very good backheel which took out the defender at the byline but he was too greedy trying to beat the goalie at his near post. would have done better with a lookup and pass instead. he's young and he will learn.

probably he will run a few extra laps as punishment by sammy lee for not doing that.

i notice the current team,with the influence of the foreign players,played some nice football...good one touch...flicks...backheels...i dont see much of that even during the 70s & 80s...its refreshing...just dont overdo it...as long as its effective :thumbsup:

iirc the first person to start all these backheels, back flicks, carousel, etc was garcia.

and iirc, many people slated him for it.

barnes had some fancy footworks back then...macmoneyman also...but its more frequent & more fluid nowadays...i agree to some extent garcia tried something fancy...but at that time,not many in the team are of the same frequency as him...riera always tried to do a trick or two...though not always effective :bsmilie:
