Most team which cannot compete with Liverpool midfield will defend deep in defence, and low teams will only pump balls up, so strong midfield will not work with teams like Stoke.

So why oh why did he spend the whole summer talking to A. Villa about a midfielder when what he needed was players who plays wide (and pls don't tell me Barry plays wide also). As much as I like D Kurt, Babel, Torres and Keane, along with the midfield, it would appear only now Benitez is catching up with wingers. 4 attackers, heaven knows how many midlfielders (Alonso {only in the 2nd half he realised it is easier to pass the ball to the flanks to create more penetration rather than in the centre of a packed defence shooting from 30 yards - not sure, with MUFC where did the goals come from??}, Mascherano, Gerrard, Lucas)....

Pls lah.. Reira looks good, not bad, Pennant is hopeless.. but had he been asking for $15mil for a wide player during the summer nobody would have complained.. Instead he ^%$#&* with the owners and Parry and then ^%$#&* and some more ^%$#&* :sticktong sigh...

Benitez is to be respected for his achievements (before and with Liverpool), but some of his decision take a lot of patience.. I hope he is given enough time to correct some of his mistakes.. I am dreading to think that they might get the german in!

Oh, I have seen some good changes and some bad changes, some good people and some crazy people duging the last 34 years of supporting LFC... Did not think Houllier was bad.. but he made some very expensive mistakes in the hope of solving the same exact problem that Benitez is facing.. Evans was a nice guy (too nice who in retrospect failed to see how the world of football was changing from the bootroom to the divas), King Kenny (humbly I felt he inherited a good team thus hard to judge him objectively as a manager, enjoyed watching him play though), Soon-less (public forum.. those who know the page 3 picture story and his "achievements" I think you can understand), lets leave Paisley and the rest alone..

All in all, football has changed, like Houllier, if Reira fails to deliver Benitez may be asked to pack and go based on the simple business formula ($$ in -> ?? out). I just hope it won't come to it because like Houllier he is a good manager. There is no guarantee that the next manager will be better!
