Souness did give the opportunities to Macca and Fowler.
He also brought in Mark Wright and Rob Jones.
I think CC rates Rob Jones as the best FB we had

Other than those, the rest are forgettable

Forgotten whether Phil Babb is bought by him, but that player is really :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

rob jones was good, too bad had injuries

my fav is steve nicol

yeah, 50m pound can sell.. and buy kun aguero! :P

Both our FB now are quite ok. But we really need another solid centre back. Otherwise if either Agger or Skrtel injured, we will be quite jialat.

Actually I prefer Torres to stay, Aguero play his partner, and we revert to the traditional 4-4-2 :) I can see clown Ferdi and clumpsy vid shaking if we have that combi :bsmilie:

Wright was really quite solid also. I like.

Mid-90s, I think we really wasted. Got quite a good generation of players, but too bad never give the other teams a good run for their money for the title. Even labelled as the "Spice boyz" :bsmilie: Back then, I always thought to myself, what if Redknapp had maintained injury free? We could really have been better.

Now just looking for ward to every other games moving forward. Hope everyone improves and we won't miss out on Europe.
yes, a few of the spice boy generation underperformed in my opinion. Fowler is pretty much top then.. macca could play better and he left us in a lurch and poorer by signing with Madrid for free... Owen also left us for spare change...

Not forgetting Stan Collymore who has a wonderful partnership (who still rem 4-3 wins over Newcastle?) with Fowler for 1 season before he went nuts... The injury to Rednapp and also the underperforming Nigel Clark (who is arguably the best Nottingham player ahead of Roy Keane...)

Fowler and macca are the stars in the academy when he came in... in fact i think Dalglish gave macca his debut? As for Rob Jones, he was great initially but then suddenly faded away... For FBs, i think Babbel is pretty good... rock solid.. I love Steve Nicol too... very versatile.. and bornebye (dunno how to spell liaoz!)

Yup Byornebye, loved him in our shirt. He is like Steve Finnan, low profile but Mr Reliable.

I was thinking had Babbel not suffer from that rare illness, he might have played a longer time in the club. The price we got him was quite low.
