Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson: Steven Gerrard & Fernando Torres could be given a rest
Boss hopes that the supporters understand his reasoning
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has conceded that he will
likely rest key duo Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres during a busy month for the Merseyside club.
The Reds play six more games through the course of the month, and the former Fulham boss does not want to strain his important players - both of whom are returning from their respective injuries.
"I think we will have to [rest Gerrard and Torres at times]," Hodgson said, according to The Independent.
"We have to hope that the supporters understand that. Fernando had a very serious knee injury, which seems to be in the past, but when you've had an injury there's always the little risk of recurrence. And Steven, of course, is susceptible to muscle injury if he plays too many games one after the other."
