The official website has confirmed that Fabio Aurelio has been ruled out of this weekends game against Birmingham due to an achilles problem. The Brazilian was re signed by the club after having been released at the end of the troubled 2009/10 campaign.
The 30-year-old has been troubled with injuries throughout his career so this news wont come as a shock to the fans. However, it is believed that his exclusion from the weekends game is more a precautionary procedure rather than being caused by a serious problem:
Fabio is making very good progress and is definitely moving in the right direction, Hodgson told the official website.
It was a relatively minor problem but one we had to nip in the bud because achilles injuries can be very problematic.
While this may just be a minor problem, it makes you think; a lot of time would be saved if Liverpool were to tell us when the player is actually fit rather than when he isnt. Just a thought.
