some ridiculous rumours... entertaining nonetheless. hehehe
ALLARDYCE UNDER PRESSURE ALREADY
Let's start with something ridiculous. In a completely over-the-top report, The News of the World suggests that Sam Allardyce could be replaced by Mark Hughes following the Toon's 4-1 hammering at home to Pompey.
Phrases such as 'the first crisis of his Newcastle reign', 'Mark Hughes lurking in the shadows' and 'a clear message to chairman Mike Ashley', litter the report which concludes:
'Sources close to Ashley claim there will be no knee-jerk reaction from the boardroom but the chairman is hugely unimpressed with recent performances.
'The billionaire is known to be an admirer of Blackburn boss Hughes.'
BENT ALREADY OUT OF SPURS
According to The People, Darren Bent wants to leave Tottenham just four months after becoming the club's record signing.
The paper claims that Bent is already 'fed-up' with being their fourth-choice striker and only playing a handful of games.
'Bent, 23, does not think he is likely to replace Dimitar Berbatov or Robbie Keane under new manager Juande Ramos. And we can reveal potential buyers have already been sounded out about a January move for him.'
Those potential buyers are said to include Manchester City and Aston Villa.
BARCA WANT JAVIER
This is the weekend Gossip so the report in Saturday's edition of The Times that 'Liverpool face a serious battle to retain the services of Javier Mascherano after it emerged that Barcelona are determined to take the Argentina midfield player to the Nou Camp at the end of the season' can be included.
Although Mascherano has recently spoken of his wish to remain at Anfield, The Times says that a move to Spain was his preference before being sent to West Ham last season.
RAFA HAS CASH TO SPEND
But there's better news for Pool fans in The People. It claims that 'Rafa Benitez will still go on a £25million transfer spree in January - even if Liverpool are knocked out of the Champions League by Besiktas.'
AND THE REST...
'The new Tottenham head coach Juande Ramos is 'not interested' in bringing Frederic Kanoute back to north London from his former club Sevilla, according to sources at White Hart Lane', that 'Ronaldinho will not be joining Chelsea in the January transfer window', 'Frank Lampard is still refusing to accept the new deal offered to him by Chelsea' and 'Nicolas Anelka is keen to leave Bolton in January.' It speculates that Chelski could be interested in signing the striker.
