Hyppia is a loyal servant and it's only good for Liverpool to keep his services (& vice versa). While he may be lacking in pace nowadays, he may than makes up for it with his positional sense and reading of the game in general.

Reminds me of Kenny in his player-manager years...

We were "so close" after finishing 2nd in season 2001-2; only to sign some "crabs" that unsettled the whole foundation of the team.

Still, G.H. era was still a success story for me as he did bring in a few trophies although he ain't so tackful in the transfer market.

Problem with LFC is that the premiership still ranks as numero UNO! and managers knows that!

You are demm right. And he is demm cool. I think when he plays, he makes less mistakes than Carra and Agger.

He is really a loyal servant, giving up his captain's armband, guiding the younger boys and making them look good and gain recognition....

yeaps agree. GH isn't that bad. i would say it is laying the foundation for the future success of the club.

however it might take a few more years before we can see any form of consistent progress, although there might be some now in the form of European games.

but it is the EPL which we need to be really really consistent and mount a forceful challenge against chelski and manutd.

Yeah, I agree. Hyppia used to be a pillar in defence in his peak. I always feared him when we played your side. Now, with age catching up, he's naturally slower and less steady. But, he can be used as a stabiliser and guidance to the younger defenders and maybe the club can retain his service as more of a coach when he retires.

I think no point going for Henry, yes he good and proven in EPL but he's not a long term solution to our striker problem. How long will it be b4 age catches up to him? :dunno:
