Thanks for reviving this thread - didn't see the earlier pictures the first time around (didn't even know about ClubSnap then), I really like them.

Nicee set!! thanks for sharing :thumbsup:

Great shots like the rest of the series. Gives an excellent impression of the crowded conditions in Singapore. And your lens either has no distortion or your PP kung fu is 1st rate :-)

or could he be always choosing the correct level to shoot with the lens pointing perpendicular to the opposite buildings?

Yeah, there is that, but I don't mean just perspective distortion, I mean barrel / pincushion as well.

Edit: re-read your original post and edited my response. Thanks for pointing out the perspective distortion part.

ic. cos usually i didn't pay attention to barrel distortion (i shot mostly organic themes) whereas perspective distortion is always prominent.

thanks guys for the comments.

i usually choose an auspicious floor to shoot the buildings eg. 8th storey. lol... kidding...

i try to choose a floor mid-level, so the messy ground is cut out and usually the sky is out also. that creates an impression of claustrophobia which helps to set the mood. i try to point perpendicular where feasible and shoot a little further away so the perspective distortion is reduced. i have to find a suitable distance because i use the 17-40 so there is not much zoom.

i definitely do perspective corrections and sometimes "spherize" (usually -2% or -4% if i shoot wide-angle ie. 17mm) in PS to minimize those lens distortions as mentioned.

i am in constant lookout to snap the urban density of sg. if anybody saw something worth capturing, do inform me ok! i will try!

cheers!

love the composition. how is your photogenic cats nowadays? miss their photos hahaha.
