Hi mousedeers, care to share your experience with ur D50 IR?
I am using the same system with an ELP filter. But i am unable to get the ideal WB for most of my shots.
I hear from people that they set the WB to PRE, hold it till it flashes that take a photo on something green. And the screen should appear GOOD.
So far, i am unable to get the GOOD result from the WB.

And what is your EV for your photos?
And how do you acheive such yellow foilage?

Can you share ur experience?
Sorry for asking so much as i am damm new to IR photography & its PP.
Thank you!

Yes the ways u set the WB is correct. You can not get the GOOD because you point your cam to the foliage, in this way it is very hard to get the GOOD. My way is to point to the blue sky or building or half frame of leave and half frame of sky. Once u get the WB correct, the original photo look cyan on the leave, that is the correct color. In photoshop do the channel swap and goto the selective color to enhanced the color.
Every photo the EV is different either plus or minus. Take one photo and check the LCD to see it need plus or minus of EV. U are most welcome to ask. May be next month I am on leave I will organize an outing for everyone to learn.

nice colors
Thanks

Ok, i will test out the WB the next time.

Do you mind sharing more on your PP?
What I am doing now is base on the sticky by log1tech, auto color followed by changing the values in the channel mixer, so on and so forth..

BUT i am still unable to acheive the golden foilage effect.

Beside the channel swap, go to the image-adjustments-selective color-
click colors: red, adjust cyan=-50, magenta=0 yellow=0 black=0
click colors: yellow, adjust cyan=-50, magenta=+25 yellow=0 black=0
click colors: neutrals, adjust cyan=0, magenta=0 yellow=0 black=+25
also adjust shadow/highlights,
also adjust hue/saturation.

Mousedeers : One question...can the Hoya R72 achieve golden leaves? or must we use the same Edmund Long pass filter as you? THanks

Hoya R72 can obtain golden leaves if the WB set correctly but it is not an ideal color as compare to ELP.
