OK guys as you can see, we are growing nicely. Had a bit of a chat with some of the chaps this evening at Chiifs and I'm thinking that we should start planning for the official launch of the group. I would like to suggest, with the blessings of all, that our inaugural event should be something like a photo exhibition at maybe, red dot or post museum. Red dot would be most appropriate I guess...
Theme: Me and my RF.
Not just shots of yourself, but whatever you like taken with your RF. 1 pic per member, large scale mounted and on an easel, with your name, gear etc on it. Maybe throw a simple cocktail party and invite the press including Camera Brands to come in to either sponsor, try to sell us stuff etc etc... Pitch it as a group of high net worth individual special interest group.
It should be highly creative, doesn't need to be straight pics, it can be anything you wish, free to create. It could be for example a collage of all your RF pics, to form one image, or once of your pics that has then in turn been re-interpreted by one the artists in your life (your kids, your mum or whoever) or straight pics if yous so wish. Whatever feels best to you. The idea is not to compete but to compliment each other and to show that photography extends beyond snaps.
It'll probably take sometime to put this all together, so I will try to call for a "la kopi" session soon and to pick an auspicious date to launch this. Maybe this way Chairman hacker can finally fulfill his dream: a book!!
