Just Sharing the fact that Linhof is still very much relevant in todays Digital market .
They have the Techno - a portable shift , tilt , bellow camera to attach a Digital Back to .
To optain maximum DOF in product photography we need to apply the SF effect .
And it takes the widest lens for a 645 chip - the Rodenstock HR Digaron -S 5.6/23mm .
This is equivalent and angle of 16mm on 135mm format.
Should retail in Singapore for about $ 20k . And fit any Digiback through adapters.

I visited Linhof Munich factory in Dec 2007 and send my Technikardan 45S for routine servicing. The staff is very friendly and I've seen their development in digital LF cameras. Hope they don't end up like Rollei....

Its difficult to make it these days even if you are good at it.
Linhof makes superb Ballheads and Tripods meant to position 4x5 cameras at an angle.
Hardly any one has seen them as the newer gimicky brands take the limelight .
Only Old Mr. Wong from Fotografix in Chinatown Point # 02-15 still sells them .

any idea, given that wide lens, what are the movements we can do with this combo?

40mm of self aligning vertical shift with exact parallel control .
Front Standard - Horizontal parallel shift 10mm left , 10mm right .
Vertical parallel shift 20mm up.
Swing and Tilts +-10 deg.
Rear standard - Vertical parallel shift 20mm up , 20mm down.
Maximum camera extension - 240mm .
Body is 1900 gm ,made of sturdy light alloy and carbon fibre.
Great with Linhof 3-D levelling head 003663 .

Nice camera man !
But , I Can only afford the Syvestri Bicam II with Apo Digitar 24mm for my H3DII 39 .
Very portable at 800 gm with shift , 15mm up and 15mm down .
Paid $10k before tax from Denis of Shriro.

Wow, both very impressive cameras.

Oui ! Heard can see one of these Linhof Techno Beauties at Hasselblad H4D Launch at Shriro next Tuesday the 18th of May !
Gotta go register now ...

Just got a quote from Denis from Shriro.
It seems they recieved one from Linhof by mistake and rather than send back , factory giving additional 10% for any lucky guy !

Linhof Techno camera body with normal bellow - $ 19,880
Wideangle Bellows , Universal plate adapter , Adapter plate for Hasselblad H and
HR Digaron-S 5.6/23mm copal .
Less 10% = $ 17,892.

I have some commitments now , so , whoever has got the dough - GO FOR IT !

it sells on B&H for US$7793, so should be closer to S$10k than S$20k. No?

That is for the Camera body only .
without the wide-bellow , universal adapters , adapter mounts for V , H comes to USD 1200.
The Digaron-S 5.6/23mm is already USD 6,837.95 .
Before shipping and Insurance.

thats some expensive toy.
Probably cheaper if you move up in film size say 5x7

Eh , I think it is designed to take the latest MF digital backs and the lens is coated for Digital .
Cost of camera does not include the Digiback . . .

2 really great cameras ! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Went down to Shriro for the Techno .
It was sold to a Kwek property developer.
Did not want to wait , so I took the Syvestri .
Must say that it is pretty good , and the Apo Digitar 24mm is superb.
Many Thanks to this thread !
