Got it... it's not a Gary Fong Lightsphere II. But a rip-off of the same thing made in China I guess. It's called Lambecy. CP sells GF Lightsphere for $91 (non-negotiable, controlled price). I bought the Lambecy (almost identical design I guess) for $40 just now. I haven't test but someone at the shop also shopping for something else told me he bought both the clear and cloud versions and having used it say that it works just as well... need to check if got colour cast... given that the plastic is slightly bluish-grey, might have a slight blue cast... not sure... will try and let all know...

keep us posted bro. am actually thinking want to buy or not.

sorry for hijacking this thread. Is 5600HSD still available in local store? is there is, how much?

so which size did you buy..?

that's the same thing I'm thinking of buying. :D

for those of you wondering why I order "online", hint.. see my location.. ;)
most of my accessories are from 'mainland' (Java), from local buy-sell forum, then have it sent direct to my house, usually the price is still lower than going to Singappore by myself.

You can buy the current SONY HVL-F56AM, which is the same as the 5600HSD minus the Konica-Minolta logo.

P3. The P2 was too tight couldn't even get it onto the flash...

Tried the device today... poor results... partly because the auditorium I shot in was like 25+ feet high... no bounce possible. So shot direct with the translucent cap on... not very good... today (Goodness it's 2am) will try again... will be shooting a classroom...

why dont consider flip-it pro?
lighter and have 2 in 1 function: diffuser and/or bounce.

Tried shooting today. Results are mixed... did not compare with and without the diffuser. I think with diffuser the lighting is very even though.

what mode did u shoot in? personally felt minolta flash system is a bit dodgy ....different result with similar setting in av mode and manual mode in ttl mode:think:

No time to think so A mode with some experimentation with flash and exposure compensation... yeah the flash system is definitely not reliable...

in av mode...try adjusting the ev it seem to directly affect the flash output...{for my 5d}..
when in manual mode...using bounce u will have more consistent result in setting yr flash in manual mode than rely on it preflash-ttl

I tried again last night and it worked pretty well... the height of the ceiling was manageable lar... less than 15 feet. Noble House restaurant.
