Hi, wonder if any Lightroom 2 users here have used the new camera profiles released by Adobe.

The camera profiles are supposed to emulate the color rendering provided by individual camera manufacturers, so that you see almost the same image when you open their raw file in LR2 & their own propertiary software (e.g NX2)

However, after trying it out, I still find the color rendering far from what I see on NX2. Quite many user reviews online feedback that they get very accurate results (v.s propertiary software) with these profiles.

Anyone here has got good results with the profiles?

i have installed and found them useful in particular for portraits... gives you alternative starting points...

Yup, I find it useful too.

But just puzzled why reviews are saying the result is very close to NX2 which I don't really find so.

I know that one can buy lightroom2 from Adobe website.

But can some kind souls advise where can I buy a box set in Singapore?

Thanks in advance!!

Funan shop call riceball if i remember correctly. located at 1st floor.

i just installed the profiles and find it ridiculous different also. i was tweeking in around later on and realise, just reset all settings (control+shift+r) before u apply the profile, it will then produce slightly more similar colors, but still noticable.

Main difference is the color of the curtain, the shadow side of the face and the exposure of the TV.

i would say good try from adobe, since it is still at its beta stage, we can expect them to fine tune in later patches. i will now learn to use lightroom2 more! (i hate nx2 layout and controls, memory eating also)
