Perfect. Love it. were u on a hill or from ur room

I asked permission from the hotel to go on the balcony on the 22nd floor which is not being used.

Nice, I think a tighter crop will make the image stand out even more ...

What setting was your camera(aperture, shutter speed, iso), care to share?

 amazing pic. like this.

Amazing!

Just curious how do you know when will the lightning stroke appear...

not quite, watch the lightning for a while to know where to set camera up. Decide on settings due to lighting. I usually use between 4- 8 secs. Open shutter to take picture take picture and then keep on taking. During that time shutter will only be shut for a short time. So chances of getting a shot of lightning is very high.

Wow! I love this pic!

I think you've done what you can do already, so there's little to comment on. You've frame it well, with enough of the buildings at the bottom, and that wonderful clouds at the top. Getting where the lightning will strike is hardly within your control, but those 2 streaks were perfectly placed, with the one on the right making the silhoette of the island stand out more. Unfortunately, that crane-like thing sticking out onto the sea is not particularly nice, but really, can't complain lah!

So, really,

actually that crane helps to give more dimension to the photo, separating the land and the sea with that little island.

Settings were 9 sec f11 ISO 100

9 Sec.. pray and hope there's lightning :bsmilie:

Beautiful pictures... thanks for sharing how you captured the lightning.

Beautiful capture bro. Nice composition, with a good proportion of the inland, sea and sky.
