I had total ZERO knowledge about Lightmeters.
Is there any info that I can read? cos I heard that there are many kind for many usage?

I would like to get a one for my Voigtlander R. Cos I felt that the built in Meter is not very accurate.

Could anyone please recommend me any model with a 2nd hand price of around $100-200?

Thank you

I find that my R underexposes about 1 stop as well. Anyway back to your question, you can get a 2nd hand Polaris light meter for 200+.

200+ is for 2nd hand. The one I have is the Dual 5. Info here: http://www.adorama.com/SBP5.html

When they used a light meter in front of your face they're measuring incident light, that is, the light falling on your face. When you wish to take landscapes/far objects you measure reflected light. When buying a light meter, it's therefore preferable to have the incident and reflected measurement modes.

To be honest with you, i have never seen it in Singapore. I have seen new ones in Hong Kong. I had one, which I eventually sold off to someone here on clubsnap. Got it from eBay. Cost was close to USD110.

Think u can get a new polaris light meter at Rubis (was it spelled this way? Sorry, I am dyslexic, I can't read spelling very well) at Penisula shopping centre, opposite TCW .... I was on display when I pass there ..... I think it was selling for $200+ or was it $300???? But anyway, it is near that price.

Read about light meters here:

I was told AP sells a Polaris at <$200. See if you know anyone who's pal-y with the people there.

Thank you very much.

I went around comparing low end light meters and found out Polaris 2 digita meter (Ruby $300)come with more function than a sekonic L308 flashmate (TCW $295)

Any advice?

I will also check out the <$200 light meter at AP. But do you have any ideal what is the model?
