dunno about Flash vs Auto, but i know flash is able to take ambient, incidental, with studio setup, multiple flash also, not sure wat Auto can do.
for color meter, it comes with sets of gels i think, then can calibrate color temperature, useful for previously using slides, or negative to get correct colors, think nowadays its using AWB so unless it 'fxxked up' otherwise still can shoot raw & change later.
