So in other words, if Hyypia had played instead of Pelle, it could have been the same result anyway.

How come it be ?? Under what assumptions u had made on ?

Yup.. in defending that ball.. Prob makes no diff. Unless Hyypia shouts to his midfielders to close down the player, which is hardly do.

One thing i must say, Liverpool players all seems like too soft and nice to each other. Someone like Gerrard or Hyypia shd kick some of the players' a$$ when it's due. Like when Traore tries some fanciful backheel in defensive situation or Garcia trying some fancy passes to our opponent.

That is so not Liverpool. :thumbsd:
I am not sure if people notice that Liverpool tend not to have so much negative news such as player squabbling etc apart from the "disgraceful" spice boys tag many years ago (damn it seems so long ago when I saw them in the armani suits for the FA cup - Collymore, Fowler, McManaman...)
Even our managers were not as fiery as some of the rest. Sometimes, I feel that Benitez suits Liverpool more than Mourinho. We made a good choice didn't we? ;)

A nightmare that deserves to be forgotten.. do you remember when it was said that when Evans threaten to fine a player for going to a shoot instead of training the player simply asked "how much?" as he made more money from the shoot than he would have lost from the fine..

In my opinon, the rot started from a certain "gentleman" who has since managed a certain Glasgow Rangers, Benfica, Blackburn, Newcaste.. bumbed into him actually on a train from Glasgow to Edinbrough.. should have told him back then that shouting doesn't motivate.. Benitez does :)

I read somewhere about one of the worst francas in transfer football (not counting UMFC Thabitti :) - does anyone remember him?) was the signing of a Blackburn player (by that gentleman again!) based only on videos send by his agent.. Apparently the manager played him for a game and then got rid of him as fast as lightning..

BUT according to BBC the omens are on our side:

1978: Pope dies, Wales win Grand Slam, Liverpool win European Cup
1981: Prince Charles marries, Liverpool win European Cup
2005: Pope dies, Wales win Grand Slam, Prince Charles marries, Liverpool reach Champions League semis

... Hmmm..

On a more serious note.. why did monsieur Houllier sell Westerveld??

Julian and Kvarme! Meijer did what was expected of him.. same as Heskey.. holding role.. not scoring role :)

before u comment on him, do u have an idea of the stats of the number of goals and assist on goal done by heskey to the team ?

We always had good managers since Shakly and until the Heysel incident and Souness came in..it's all going down from there on...
Shame on Souness he was a Liverpool player as well!

if u have noticed my reply in this thread....i never really like Baros attitute...now this basket now will consider his future after Liverpool had made a successive run in CL. :sticktong Pls go. We only want player who is committed to be Liverpool player.....

Attached is the story.

haha the media again :D
so who's leaving next? Carragher? Riise?
watever :)

Heskey scored 60 goals in 4 year servicing with Liverpool. 15 goals a season on average. let alone numbers of assist-on-goal.

and remember he was not the club 1st striker..it was Owen. To play as 2nd striker for the club..he was one of the best in EPL. Pls look at those 2nd striker playing for MU , Arsenal, Chelseas, Leeds, Newcastle during 2000-2004.

Unless u can provide us that all the top 5 club 2nd striker had better goals stats than heskey... u hardly convince any of us here that Heskey is bought to hold ball..not to score goal.
