LFC - You'll Never Walk Alone

With regards to why our players seem to play much better after they left. I think the answer is very simple.

Liverpool do not play in a certain style. Yup.... All teams can be successful to a certain extent by adapting the players to play in a certain style.

Arsenal plays a quick one touch passing by passing the ball into the goal, literally.

Chelsea builts their team based on teamwork and defense and scrappy 1-goal wins.

Totteham become successful by playing and passing the ball well...

Liverpool... really not sure we are good in or what we are bad in.

I guess the only time we are successful in recent years is when Gerrard Houllier played a counter-attacking game which won us 5 trophies... 5... even the old liverpool teams may not win 5 tropies in one year (over 2 seasons).

Under criticism, Houllier change tactics and played offensive but never regain the form.

I think a lot of time, players and fans alike, were confused by his strategy and substitutions. Rafa at least is being more consistent by replacing a DM with DM (Diao for Hamann), RM for RM (Nunez for Alonso) etc...

When the players are confused, esp like Kewell (he played as RM, LM, CM, Stiker), they just can't perform their best.

Simply as that. Sad but true.

if u buy D70 and it comes with a free tripod...how good that tripod will be ?? :bsmilie:

Hehe.. not true. Morientes and Cesar sounds pretty good to me. Cesar is a world class TRIPOD (He's ex-spain and RM's no. 1, lost his place to CAsillas in a freak accident if i recall, cut his hand or injured his foot before the world cup/CL final i think).

your statement is true but sad also to admit...hahahaa.....

I believe consistency. That is built on consistent role play.. Even Kewell and Garcia played Striker in one game this season..and we did not score any goal and conceded 2 from Mboro.

U can't simply switch player too much out of their position. Even talented Gerrard can be used to play different . But try to play him 1 match at LB, 1 match at CM, 1 match at RM, 1 match at supporting striker and then 1 match at CD. he will also be confused and may shoot at his won net..after that.

Diouf play as supporting striker...for Senegal when he was a top. We bought him and wished he could score and take some burden off Owen..When he needed time to settle, Houllier made him as right midfielder.

and we see that he sucked...I also mourn about his 10m signing.

hOullier also changed the tactic of that season...from counter attack, we try to attack. heskey used as target man to hold the ball for other to come up and attack together...He started to fade by then....One could not forget that he did bang in lots of goal in his 2st season with us.

Consistency is always the key i believe. Although flexible is encouarged...but that is to the flexiibility to play LM in attacking oreinted game, a game to defend, a game must win....but not flexble to play different role. ie...never see Paolo Maldini to play for RM, never see ROnaldo to play RM.

and i also believe that recently Liverpool doing much better is because we are more consistent now...continuous without josemi who leaking goals so often.

Hehe.. not true. Morientes and Cesar sounds pretty good to me. Cesar is a world class TRIPOD (He's ex-spain and RM's no. 1, lost his place to CAsillas in a freak accident if i recall, cut his hand or injured his foot before the world cup/CL final i think).

me just kidding about bundle package...anyway....not impress with nunez at all...Cesar ?? The ex-spain and RM's no. 1, lost his place to CAsillas in a freak accident if i recall, cut his hand or injured his foot before the world cup/CL final. I tot that was the keeper who played for Valencia ??

Canizaries ( i think i got the spelling wrong but heck) got cancer i think but subsequently recovered. If i not wrong, Cesar was 1st choice, Canizaries 2nd and Casillas only 3rd choice...

haha, poor canizares, dropped a bottle on his foot or something if i dont remember wrongly...

yaloh...buy the D70 package from SITEX at 2200 and sell the tripod for 20.

sell Owen for 8m + Nunez...and sell Nunez for 2m.. after his performance with Norwich (not to mention he had several miserable game before that ), I am glad that we can sell him for even 1m.

with League Cup semi final lucky draw, we faced Watford rather than neither Chelsea nor MU.

and 3rd and 4th round FA Cup, we will play Burnley (II). And AFC Bournemouth (III) if we can proceeed to 4th round..

dun always complain that luck is not with us.. the draw had done us a favour.

not to forget that we avoided all the italian team in the CL knock out match as well.

Attached is the FA Cup 4th round draw. highlight is MU vs Mboro, and Chelsea vs Birmingham.

Derby County (II) v Watford (II) or Fulham
Manchester United or v Middlesbrough
Exeter City (ML)
Cardiff City (II) or v Colchester United (III)
Blackburn Rovers
Chelsea v Birmingham City
West Ham United (II) v Sheffield United (II)
Oldham Athletic (III) v Bolton Wanderers

Hehe... Highlight is EXETER vs Mboro lah.. MU prob got kicked out by the non-league team! :bsmilie:

It's true we have been quite lucky as far as cup draws are concerned. We need it after all our terrible injuries. btw, Rafa has decided to play most of the senior players against Watford. He also says he will prob play Pellegrino against Man U, which may not be a good thing as Pellegrino may be a bit lack of match fitness and also not familiar with Man U players.

What time is the match for watford vs liverpool? Is it showing in SG as i am still stuck in China....

Any idea where i can get a webcast or min by min update?

rafa gonna let the big guns play tonight. i know why he did so but i kinda wish the kids get another run. they got us this far......
i suppose rafa is hoping for a good winning margin today and we can let the kids out for the next match

must let the little toddlers out for some fresh air mah. a 90minute day trip to vicarage road would be just what they'd like :)
routledge of crystal palace rejected a new contract...good young player. if only we have the money. he might be a good fit for our wing if we can't get pennant.
btw, TNP fan poll shows liverpool ahead at 4072 votes with man utd behind at 2989  keep it going!
let's hope we get 3 points this weekend.
