Do u guys notice a significant difference of our play at last nite match ?
1st half we played baros.
2nd half we played Cisse.
Yes...Baros can dribble and run at thedefender. The difference is to know when to dribble, and when to release the ball.
Against Arsenal, Baros took the ball, run to the ground or to the corner
flag. Our attack was flat, and even midfielders can't do much. But in second
half, there was overall improvement in term of LFC attack.
ONE of the reasons is the way Cisse play compared to Baros.
Baros always try to get the final ball, and dribble past the defence like a
mad bull. Most of the time, against top defenders you will either run out of
space or lose possession. And the midfielders have no chance to get involved
bcos once the ball reached Baros, he will bring the ball is either too far
up, or possession lost too quick.
But Cisse is more intelligent. He would just drop off the defenders a bit,
get a touch of the ball, pass it along, turn and get into space again. He
also moved to the flanks when the centre is congested, opening up space for
the midfield to move forward.
Cisse's style give more option for the midfield to pass the ball, and
subsequently more time for the midfielders to push up.
It's what they call bringing your teammates into play. Baros simply doesn't
do that. He is running like headless Chicken.
