"Footbore" is the right term to use to describe Houllier's Liverpool!

that depend on individual preference.

some people like football ...they play for winning.

some people like football ...they for entertaining.

But I believe if u want to choose either, LFC management will opt for winning rather than entertaining.

Nuts. I'd rather Liverpool spend the money and bring Jonathan Woodgate back from Real

Real has to pay us 5m if we are to buy Woodgate. Why ??

because it is a player who will not play a single match but we have to pay for his week bill and the medical bill.

erm... jus use the money and sign a top-notch centerback!! its that simple!!
being sentimental with mickey mouse will not win u the title!

what? buy that sick chicken who have been injured and get get high wages for the past 2 years? what joke is that? i was so surprised when real madrid bought him while he was injured. what an astute piece of buisiness by newcastle!

woodgate? he's not gonna be injured forever. and once you look back, you'd realise that woodgate is one of the best defenders in england. he has plenty of EPL experience, played in europe with leeds and had a spell in spain (although on the treatment table). Worth a look at least. if he has recovered fully and shown sufficient maturity in his conduct, why not?
van nistelrooy was out for nearly a year but fergie waited till he recovered and bid for him again. it paid off didn't it? it doesn't hurt to take a look before we condemn him. if real wants 21 mil, they can fly a kite. but if they are keen to offload him for 4-5mil, why not?

owen back? no complaints as long as the transfer fees are fair. but i would put him behind a CD and right winger in priority.

i like winning. but i like it better when we deserve it. somehow, houllier's era always made me feel like we "cheated" a little. unfair to him certainly and i fully appreciated what he did for the club, but i can't help how i feel. and i always believe counter attacking football can win you knockout tourneys (look a greece) but to always be a contender, you must be able to play good football. class will tell in the long run and frankly, GH's liverpool was a little short of that. but we had to start some where. fergie had man utd counter attacking like hell in the beginning too but he was slowing building a team mature enough to start building up the attack from the back and moving the ball around. I hope rafa can help us evolve in this manner too, while retaining the fundamentals GH left behind (hard work, solid defence and good fighting spirit).

I dun mind them taking mickey back if baros is sold off.

you just highlighted the problem with that lad. he really is the most injury prone defender i have ever seen on TV. :bsmilie:

we already have one of the best CD in england...he had won Champion league, UEFA, LEague Cup, Fa Cup..etc.etc..

Much better than Woodgate..

I would even play Whitbread rather take the sicknote Woodgate.

Once u are out for 1 years..u have to prove that u can again kick a good football for a year without going injured.

Just take him while he has not even played a game for Real is simply too much risk and ridiculoous decision. Unless we have money to burn here and there.

GH also playa a style that attack from the the back and movng the ball ..Typical example...Berger big kicked the ball up....(attack from the back)..the ball fly up and owen run like rocket and run pass Dixon..and shoot... Goaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal..

Long ball is also an attacking football. NOt necessary that every team must play like brazil than only consider attacking football.

If u dun like the long ball attacking football..then u must hate england. long pass to the wing...run like hell...bik kick for a cross...and hope the striker able to run for a header..

but then how come england has so many fans but people dun like Liverpool long ball attacking football ?

or people indeed had a hard feeling against GH rather than the long ball ?

for me it is simple...I dun care what style. If the manager brought us victory, I like the style. We are playing for winning...not to entertain.

Brazil played very fancy football in 1986 world cup, back pass, flick here flick there..move the ball around, passing to unbelievable position..dribbling..but lost in quarterfinal. I hate that.

But then they played for victory..no fancy football in 1994...win the world cup. I like it.

if we have limited supply of Vitamin M..i dun mind too.

but with very limited resource, money could be well spent to get us a CD and a RM.

I wonder no one is asking to buy Dudek..?

i don't mind playing long ball if it is effective, that is you know that someone will be able to reach it. Aimless long ball is boring.

I mean Liverpool is already happily paying for Kewell, what's another one? ;-)

Woodgate appears to be now fully recovered. Since RB is looking for a central defender, it would make more sense to buy him than to bring Owen back.

Besides, just like Owen, it's unlikely he'll even start for Real!

Therefore he's a more realistic buy. Hmm, if they can afford to pay Real for him that is.

*GASP!!!* Duncan Ferguson and EVERTON!!!! :o

It will be interesting if both baros and owen end up in Everton.. :P

keep it for wat...reina play, carsen on the bench .. keep dudek for reserve team ??

Instead u could spot the difference between kewell and woodgate, I dun mind to highlight to u....

kewell - before he joined LFC, he has been playing good football with previous club. Although he is Tampax Kew, at least 1 week in 3 week out.

Woodgate - (if we sign him) before he join LFC, he has not been playing any football at all. and he is 52 weeks out with his current club.
