thought we were very negative at the start but the plus point was that though we sat back, we created some good chances. Drogba's goal was simply unstoppable and Ballack's sending off was, in my opinion, unwarranted. True, he went in with studs but it wasn't intentional. His eyes were never on sissoko but always tracking the ball. He deserved a yellow but no more.
Kuyt had a good chance when he hit the bar. I think that was one of our best moves. Most of the time, we didn't really know what to do with the ball. Get the ball, pass around a bit, play to pennant, pennant cross. You can see the chelsea defence tighten up and mark the centre forwards tightly everytime the ball spreads to the right because they expected the cross in. Too predictable. And there wasn't any runs into the box by the central midfielders. Simply asking too much of the forwards. If sissoko is playing, then xabi should push further up and try to make runs into the box for crosses. Everybody just sat back. We had plenty of shots on target, but these were half-chances mostly. Not enough ideas and variety in the play to really trouble defences.
Chelsea were just a bit better and deserved the win. But we did perform much better than at everton. Agger looks great. He's got a great vision and passing ability. Not too bad in defence too.

Latest score: Liverpool 2 Newcastle 0

And a wonderful goal from Alonso inside Liverpool half.:)

 watched the whole game. Alonso is solid. sublime pass to finnan as he slid the ball back across goal for Kuyt to slide home.
then the super strike from own half. helped by stephen harper slipping as he was hurrying back. i find it... quite sad for Harper becos he has been waiting so long in Given's shadow and finally got a crack, only to be hantum by that goal.

Liverpool din't really played that well in the 2nd half as newcastle came back strongly from the break. was disappointed not to see my favourite newcastle player, Titus Bramble, not in the starting lineup. hehehe

overall, not a bad game for the Reds. but not a very good one too. i'm not entirely impressed but i guess we're still finding our way.:dunno:

This is possibly the 1st game Alonso played well. Tbh, he has been playing below par for the past few games. In fact, this is his first goal after the Luton goal shows that he went a bit flat or even downhill after that game...

With his quality, he should ahve at least 8-10goals a season, rather than the 3-4goals he's scoring now.

more winning to come gooollll....

heh heh heh
they are tottenham hotcakes leh!

curry cheese cream puffs are for manutd esp. after their encounter with reading. my fren, the manutd fan, confidently told me manutd will bury reading. its all a ceremonial process. they are there for the taking to appease the spirit of the great manutd.

well, they started hot and spicy, but ended cheesy and creamy, letting reading took the lead and had to scurry back through gayboy Ronaldo.

starting to see LIVERPOOL playing well and having a consistent good run.
