played so lousily and won 5-1!!

played well lost 2-0 and 2-1...

i rather we played lousily and win big big :D

good to know GOD scored as well as other strikers. They need the confidence. it's all 3 points that matter lads!

the confidence building is important. once confidence is good, team will perform well :) hopefully, this will be the start of another long winning streak!

SG is tired liao.....50 over games and 10-15 more to go.......

running the midfield is no joke....especially being the play maker
it covers more ground than the strikers and defenders....

lets hope for another 5-1 this weekend
yeah, i agree SG is tired but thats the reason why Rafa rested him for the 1st leg of the Benfica game. As much as i think Rafa has done well in his time, i think his rotation policy is a bit random at times and does not consider some things (at least to me).

If i am in his place, for the strikers, i will play Fowler and Mori/Cisse and Crouch on bench. If away, i will play Mori and Crouch/Cisse and fowler on bench.
The rationale is quite simple. Fowler is one that plays on adrenaline and support of the fans. His best performance, are usually at home games and when we have more possession. Similarly, Mori will benefit from more possession as he don't create chance. Cisse and Crouch will be good to come off the bench for their pace/height respectively when defenders tired, just liek the Fulham game, when Knight got injured.

Away match, our possession is likely to be less. We may play Crouch up front, Mori or Cisse as main striker, depends on the defender's pace. Fowler will be good to bring on as he's prob best if he plays flat out for 30 mins or so. If you look at the Fulham game, i realised that Fowler seems dog-tired even just after he scored (in 16th min?). So thats how i will rotate the strikers for home/away situation.

Honestly not sure why he sucked so badly playing for newcastle... He was once a no.1 target for Houllier ard the treple season but i think he broke his neck or something and ended sign with Ranger and then Souness sign him... With a partnership of Boumsong and Bramble.. Newcastle is gonna suffer. I rem a match where the commentator says that teams are just waiting for a mistake by these 2 and they duly provide, time and time again.

Back to Liverpool, interesting to see Rafa play 5-3-2 but it works a treat. Also, we get to rest some players like Alonso etc. We have played well these 2 matches and hopefully will play well against birmingham and get to FA semis. Long live Liverpool!

its 3 centerback, 2 wing back, 1 anchor(Hamann), 1 center midfield(Gerrard), 2support man(Cisse and Kewell) and 1striker, Crouch.

the system and formation looks good so far. the boys adapted well and esp. in the opening period, Newcastle were aimless and clueless. Solano wanted to 'punish' us and he couldn't do much at all. haha!

it looked more like:
3 centrehalf
2 wing back
2 central midfield
2 wing midfield
1 striker

this formation can be quite 'siong' for the central midfield. they have to move up to support the lone striker when the wing midfield take in a run and back when the ball comes back out.

and not forgetting, our 3 centrehalf has to play fairly high up and be very quick to spring the offside trap. i thought we did well though agger did look uncomfortable once in a while. but i like what i see in agger so far. probably a legend in the making.

i am also glad it was warnock and not traore in the left wing back position. otherwise, may have been a different score line already.

we'd have four goals instead of three if cisse had passed to unmarked kewell instead of blasting it over. he needn't have scored to taunt the newcastle fans. an assist will have the same impact though not the icing on the cake. team must come first. good to see rafa not taking him off because of fan problem. it would have underminded our players.

i couldn't see the rationale of bringing in fowler with almost no more game left unless there's some match or performance bonus involved.

kromkamp is proving to be quite useful. maybe some more practise swinging in crosses from the halfway line. good to see we got cover for finann now.
