not very impressed with the first half showing.
Why not?
Pool dominated, henry and pires looked like they are not playing. Xabi are spraying passes at 100% accuracy.
Arse were only able to make occasional forays through Lundberg.
But I guess I know whay you mean. Lehmann was never tested despite our dominance save for a almost own goal. Penalty was undeserved. Moro was slow or off balanced EVERYTIME. Fowler's tummy showed.....
I do hope they score.....

i was surprised to see Pires being substituted in the 2nd half. he was in the arsenal team for this match? hahaha:bsmilie:
it'll be interesting to read what tohari paijan and gang from the NewPaper has to say abt this victory. sour-puss!
fowler needs to work on his match fitness, otherwise, i'm very impressed with his off-the-ball running. morientes looks like a lost lamb. some of the best chances in the game and he can buang them all!:dunno:

it's good they are picking themselves back after back-to-back defeats. this shows believe.
i didn't watch the match but the stats shows the match was clearly one sided with the number of shots/corners that we've got.
for all the industrial effort that we put in, our finishing rate is appalling. we need someone up there NOW. oh damn it. the transfer windows closed already.

it was shocking to see arsenal in such dire straits. just a season ago, they were up there and mocking at us for failing to reach the top 4.

Yeah, the stats showed we dominated all right.
However I believe that the stats have blown our dominance out of proportion. While we were able dominate all quarters of the pitch, there were not many moments that lehmann was tested. A few close shave perhaps, but he never has had to many that many saves. Testament to how Moro was woeful yesterday, the keeper has had not to do much cos Moro fumbles, miskicks one time too many. We had a few shots on goals all right, but correct me, most were quite weak actually.
But all in all a well deserved victory. Henry couldn't do a thing! He had to first get past Gerrard and then Finan on the wings and if he tries to cut towards the center, he had to contend with Momo, same for Pires, invisible throughtout the game. Another invisible player was carragher, I dun remember if he was required to contribute throughout the game.
Garcia played with a sore look. Did he pick that up from Cisse? Think after Rafa's subtle warning, he has a thing or two to prove. Glad that he scored, quick to get on the rebound but it was a quality shot from Hamman that made it possible.
Lets bring on Man Utd!!!! Grudgingly, I think that they will be much more difficult than last night.
