I don't think they expect pity and everyone to give up their seats. Not everyone can afford to take taxis all the time too.

The question is what would you do, if you have the compassion to help those in greater need than you, and not why they are in the train in the first place. Anyway, we are all encouraged to take the public transport system, and face it, Singapore is not exactly the most handicapped/family friendly place.

Of course, unless you are in worse shape than them, then really no need to give up seats lah.

this is funny :bsmilie:

ESPN,

take your AMERICAN SportsChannel tvguide, on the aircon, and just relac on your IKEA sofa and watch your little men run all over your PLASMA tv, and shut up while at it.

the handicapped are handicapped; the disabled, disabled. IN ALL RIGHT MIND DO YOU THINK THEY WISH FOR SUCH A PHYSICAL STATE? sure, as life is, life is as it is. they inevitably will get their sufficent dosage of queer stares and 10-second-long glares by some people who've NEVER seen disabled people in their lives, but as life is, there are those who found welfare homes and do volunteering etc.they do lame things like magic tricks with cards to amuse them ( who knows to what avail? but does it matter? ) and they just go eeeerrrrrr......the intention is wellmeaning and that suffices.

taxis may be much cheaper than the oil your japan car drinks everyday, but don't forget: the disabled have NO CAR to begin with. or u thought everyone's paying back car loans, house loans? hey, guess what, there are those who struggle to pay for installments for their STUDIO-FLAT.

Wow... pityful, I've none of those, I wish I have though. I won't shut up and I won't. There's nothing you can do about it :blah:

I seriously wish I got a car too. :bsmilie: Sometimes it's amazing just because I've a drivers license, I must own a car :dunno: Who pay instalment for studio flat is none of my issue wor?

The handicapped and disabled have something called dignity too. Lame card tricks? Look who's talking. HAH.

Stop acting so HOLEY & GOODY-TWO-SHOES lah. I know I'm not. So I've got nothing to hide, and I say what I do, I don't sit behind a screen, make a fuss and try to make myself look good. :nono:

That just ain't me.

singapore is not big a country east to west...i don't mind standing if someone really needs the seat...

You will know when you are old yourself how nice it is to get a seat when you are tired...........it is just an act of giving, don't always see it is as pitiness or holey& goody whatever. Or ask your mother how backbraking it is to carry a baby for 9 months......

And trying to make oneself look good is selfish, luckily not everyone is so ignorant. You are missing the nice feeling of giving.........

And of course I won't stand up for a handicapped in a wheelcair :-)
