service is good.. i repair my 580ex four times within 6months, they managed to repair, and the device managed to spoilt.. they had a tough time with the 580ex..

Seems like internal fault of the 580EX. I've never had any issues with my 580EX after using it for a year before i sold it for the II.

i suspected to be rechargeable batteries problem.. the batteries affected my 580ex II as well. the batteries send me to csc.

Yes, becos Eneloops are pre-charged so they can be used immediately. After that then charge as per normal.

I think this gimmick it to somehow show customers that it can retain charge for a long time, even if left on the shelf for sale for mths on end.

While you were on the topic of Eneloops, here's a gentle reminder that the thread title is "lenses with good bokeh..."

Thanks in advance for your awareness on the topic. Good day.

under warranty is free.. =)

Not entirely true. They will still charge for lens cleaning if I'm not wrong. This is because it's not a malfunction of equipment. This is just like how they charge for sensor cleaning and shutter count check.

That said, if the dirt in the lens does affect focusing in any way, you can try kicking up a fuss and they might do something for you.

servicing charge is waived off under warranty. Even changing of parts is free under warranty.

Read what I wrote again. If the lens is not deemed to be malfunctioning or defective, then I wouldn't expect the work done to the lens to be covered under warranty.

u expect, CSC expects differently from you.

So I take it, you've got your lenses/camera cleaned for free then?

It is elementary of almost all warranties that complimentary repairwork will only be performed if the item is deemed to be defective or malfunctioning. Aesthetic reconditioning or restoration is not covered under warranty and you usually will have to pay for such services. The same can be said of camera lenses, camera bodies, and even laptops.
