Yap.... make you think harder when you compose and how to frame... it is harder in fact, but more satisfying.....

Mmmm.... sensor cleaning.... wonder how I get it cleaned with Canon closed on Sat.... :(

But primes are generally excellent in shaprness as compared to zooms or the same class.

U can send in your items during weekends. Just drop by at the showroom located at level 1 of the same building. U can send in there, that's what i always do as weekdays i'm working. But cons is, the time taken for the technician to call u is a lot slower. The last time i sent in my 10D for cleaning and mode dial change on a sunday, i only got a call from them the following thursday.

Yes... lesser distortion too...... and the fun thing about prime is the big aperture......

Hey bro, as long as I can sent it in, I have no complain anymore.... Thanks for your tips! ;)

No probs! :)

its actually my first time. havent done it since i got my lenses. tot of sending all 3 to do.

i feel that if there is nothing wrong with the lens.. better dun send for calibration.. n during calibration, they also take in your cam to do the calibration together with lenses.. like doing a operation, opening the equipment and doing some works in them..

even going to CSC directly, takes me about 1 week before the equipment is being repaired.. tt's my case.. =)

For me it depends cos usually i send in for CMOS cleaning and once for shutter change and another for mode dial change. The servicing in my case is very fast, usually in a day. But the waiting time is mostly on when the technician will call u for quotation.

But if u're servicing lenses, replacing lens elements or lens cleaning, may take a longer time.

for dirt, if you can clean without CSC intervention will be best. as for sharpness, do you find your photos unsharp in small size photos?

Send it back to them and wait for their respond. I find CSC is always best in service quality when it comes to servicing cams and accessories.

wat's wrong with ur 580EX? the zoom mechanism in mine was stuck within one week of usage but worked well ever since CSD repaired it.
