lenses to start with leica m8


Does the 40mm/f1.4 align well with most RF? I know only a few have the 40mm framelines, and the Voigtlander R3 is the only rangefinder in production with the frameline if I recall.

its aligns well, with the Ms, just use the 50 frame-lines and imagine a slightly tighter shot..not an issue. In fact I find better shots overall compositionally doing that.

I prefer the SC (single coated) version tho, bit more retro look
 

the first was an MP (i think, I dont quite remember what I used on that trip), the second was an M6 and the last M9, all shot wide open...CV very good performer at full aperture

yep, +1 for Nokton 40mm F1.4. Check out these colors on consumer Fuji Superia 400 film without post processing:

Some people find that the lens is not sharp enough said:

yea, the CV lenses more then capable of enabling you to print A1 size poster shots.

More energy is needed to concentrate on shooting for better shots than worrying about which lens is the best & which lens to bring out for a shoot. ;)
