Lens which you regret buying it

anyone regreted buying tamron 90mm? hah

4294967295 =0xFFFFFFFF = 32 bits of data.
its the maximum number of bits your camera can store for the distance value.

Yes I'm a geek. :P

i'm surprising intrigued by this
any further links to explain this??
so is that distant the actual distance i was away from the moon?

If i am not wrong, u can just use a coding translator for this..

For me, it's the 18-55mm lens. My first lens but right after buying it, I KNOW that I HAD to UPGRADE! Though for the price, it gives a very decent IQ, but the build is really like a toy. Should have gotten the better lens right from the start.

My regret is to sell my 15-85mm. It is a very sharp copy almost comparable to my current 17-55mm.

the 15-85 is :thumbsup: excellent range and excellent IQ. sad it is not f2.8. What's wrong with the 17-55 now?

i think all lens are great. lol. its how we take the pictures

the distance value is stored as a 32 bit value.. the moon is much further than the 32 bit value can show, so they show u the max value...

no need any coding translator, just a simple calculator to convert between base 16 and base 10 numbers can liao... even the windows calculator also can.. of coz u need some basic digital coding skills..

for those who requested for the unedited picture of the moon shot

this is the UNEDITED picture of the moon shot with my 55~250
but this is almost a 100% CROP of the actual picture

Maybe it was because the moon was quite near when he shot it and he shot it from higher ground  my physics not very good :bsmilie:

For that kind of distance, whether u shoot at the roof or from first floor i suspect it makes not much of a difference? Proportionately, the difference is probably negligible.

When I was still using Canon system, I regreted buying the 70-300mm after realising that for most of mine travelling photography I have not need for that range, sold it soon after.

OT liao.

.. For me was a lens bought on impulse, the Sigma 18-200 OS. It does OK most of the time but not at around 70 and 150mm range. I gave it to a friend who is a newbie in need of OS feature after having it for a few months.

Quite a lot of lenses have gone through my hands but it was to make space in my dry cabbi for new acquisition.....not regrets....:embrass:

However, reading this thread, I have 2 particular lens that is really under utilized...

Elmarit 35mm - less than 12 times in 2 years.
Flektagon 35mm f/2.4 - none at all except test shots during purchase.. but I have another used copy which I still get to use once a while :embrass:

The greatest regret was buying the first lens... Thereafter kept upgrading and spending more $$$..........

I regretted buying the EF 70-200 f/4L IS. It's a beautiful lens in all aspects... and the output is stunning, but... I find it to be on the heavy side... and I think it's a bit too expensive to be used as a travel lens. So, I sold it off and got the EF 70-300 IS. Happy with the decision. :bsmilie:

70-300 IS good? still puzzled with wanting to get that lens

BTW my worst is the Ef-S 18-200.................... oh well i would rather trade it for the 70-200 F4 non IS

Haha... then u should regret buying a DSLR.... should have stuck to a PNS camera, then no need to upgrade lens. :P

Why the 18-200? Its quite different from the 70-200.. btw, non-IS at 200mm is quite hard. U must have strong hands. :)

Curious anyone regret buying a specialized MACRO lens? Just wondering.... if its versatile as both macro and non-macro purposes...

I had tried canon 17-85, the night shoot is very bad even with IS on..sigma 17-70 althought it had F2.8 at the front end, it still dont preform well in indoor.. end up stuck with tarmon 17-50.con, Fix F2.8 and light,.con not IS n shorter reach ...i would not say regret buying those lens..as a beginner most ppl dono wat they want n wat kinda photo style suit them. eventully they have to figure it out by themselve...

my regret : buying bundle with kit lens 18-55

kit lens 18-135.

imo the IQ is good, its light, but the focusing ring is too darn noisy, and feels so much like a toy.
plus, its almost never on my body now..
