Lens upgrade for E-P5

Yeah haha, collecting the 75mm soon. Don't touch the 75mm unless u r ready to buy , it's really poisonous. Too many of my friends trying to poison me and yes , they won. Gotta earn back this investment from shoots.

Bro, wat should I take to travel.? :p

Zoom lens is always ideal as travel lens. 12-40 is versatile unless you want something wider.
Or you have two m43 bodies, then can have different configuration, like 2 primes, 1 prime 1 zoom.....etc.

Ic.... I have 1 body only, was planning buy 45mm...

Erm, I mean the lens coz going on June, so planning to buy 1 lens first since I just have my kits lens and the 40-150mm

If that is the case , always start from upgrading the kit lens since for most people that will be the focal length deemed most useful :) or if u are very comfortable using primes , the 17/1.8 is also great for travel.

Get a 12-40/2.8 or a 12-35/2.8 of the budget allows & it should cover around 90% of all your needs for travel. The 40-150 is decent and of course u can bring it along for the trip for those really telephoto moments.

Other lenses like UWAs can come in later slowly since their usage is also going to be limited in more specific situations.

Nowadays I realized I only bring the 12-40/2.8 , 17/1.8 and the 7-14/4 and I'm set.

My first setup for travel is E-PL1 + panny 20mm. It is very compact and capable combo without breaking bank. (It is sad to see that these days very few ppls in the forum mention 20mm lens which was once a king of MFT prime.)

Then I got EM-5 with kit lens and oly 45mm and used EPL1+20mm as backup. During the trip, framing using 45mm is quite challenging for me, so I ended up using 12-50 kit lens for most of the time. 12-50 IQ is decent but I was spoiled by Prime lens, so upgraded to 12-40.

For me, wide angle and zoom lens are must for travel.
