Collecting a modified Nikon D7000 in a few weeks i have the following lenses and will test to post results here;

Tokina 11-16 F2.8
Tokina 10-17 FE (supposed to work good with no hotspots)
Sigma 18-50 F2.8 HSM macro (On canon mounts has hotspots at F8 and higher. WIll test again)
Sigma 50mm F1.4
Nikkor 60mm AF-S
Nikkor 105mm VR
Nikkor 70-200 VR
Nikkor 24mm PC-E (Good, no hotspots as I have heard)

Will post here once I have more info. From what I have read though, I think buying a cheap 18-55 kit lens may be my best option for all purpose use.

anyone tried fd lenses. 50mm 1.8 fd, 50mm 1.4 fd ?

Kay Burn Lim,

For the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5,

It has hotspots on my 350D-IR680. But not on my 40D-IR700.

My 2 cents.

:)

Allan

Can anyone confirm if Sony 18-70 or 18-55 is good for IR on Alpha bodies? :)

Hi, anybody tested the Nikon kit lens 18-105mm or the 50mm f1.4? is it ok?

Hello! I was wondering if anybody has tried shooting with EF-S 15-85mm lens. I'm curious to know how it performs, thank in advance! :)

You mean 17-85 :)

Hi Sorry,

I do not have the chance to test the EFS15-85mm yet. Heard this lens is very solid, but not sure how it performs on IR.

Oh ok, thank you! I guess I'll have to wait longer or try buying myself soon :)

i now use old M42 lens for my IR work...some MC and some single coating...i am proudly said no hot spot on any of this lens....films lens rock in IR photography..

Lixin, agreed. Older lenses seems to be better than the current newer lenses.
