Lens Recommendation for Nikon FE2

I just got my Nikon FE2. Now I need a 50mm for this, which one should I take Nikon 1.4 AIS or Nikon 1.8 AIS?

I find that f1.8 is sufficient for most uses. f1.8 is more budget friendly IMO.

What if the 1.4 lens is only $40 more than the 1.8?

Consider the Voigtlander 40mm F2? Nice small lens...

Then maybe f1.4 is not a bad choice and next time you get a nikon DSLR you can use your f1.4 on it too, no auto-focus and fancy stuff though!

if the f1.8 is the late model ais (the one without the ai prong), it would make the whole set really compact. if the condition is the same for both lenses, i would pay the additional $40 for the additional speed. you never know when it would come in handy

1 more thing though... any recommended shops where can I buy films? and also what kind of film for a starter. :sweat:

for film, for beginners, can try agfa vista which you can get from chiif. fuji superia is not too bad and you can get that from most photo developing studios.
