With film camera you can do a real double-exposure to capture the moon and the surroundings. With digital, one can only PS it in...

Actually it's not that difficult to get nicely exposed moon with sceneries. You just have to shoot it slightly after sunset where everything is still not so dark and the moon still doesn't appear too bright, or just before sunrise. 
Sometimes you just have to wait. It's probably only a couple of days in a month where you can do that. ;p

Hey, I shot the moon from my house. By no means is it a good shot but I believe your kit lens can do it.
18mm, 6sec, f/11, Canon EOS30D, ISO800.
Personally it looks more like the sun in a dark sky.

hmmm my telescope focal length is 1250mm ... hmmm if i mount mi cam i wonder wat the zoom is ... hmmmm
i bought an attachment that say can put over my eye piece, dunnoe real not hmmmm
